A beautiful beach pub in the attractive seaside location of West Bay near Bridport. We visited with our 2 gorgeous dogs Maddie and Bertie earlier today and staff made them very welcome giving them a bowl of water and some treats, a nice touch I must add. Parking is either to the side of the pub and I believe that is free and directly out front which is definitely at a cost. We ordered the Steak and ale pie with chips, peas and gravy and we both had drinks, tea and a pint of lemonade. The pie was a knock out, and the gravy was extremely tasty and it did not take too long to arrive either. There were plenty of chunks of steak and the pie tasted a bit peppery which I really liked. Our dogs began to get restless otherwise we would have had a dessert...... On the whole this pub has a little bit of everything.... Dog friendly, beautiful fire place, good bar choice and staff and a location to die for! Excellent!

We booked here last minute on Good Friday as another pub up the road turned us away, and I'm so glad they did! Fantastic food, good size portions (it was nice to be able to choose a small or large portion), good selection of deserts too. Food was piping hot and fresh. Our dog was made welcome, and there were several others there as well. Service was good, with polite, knowledgeable, helpful staff clued up on allergies. Highly recommend.

The Bridport Arms Hotel was perfect in all regards. A lovely, big 2 level room, perfect for families. They have considered everything and it was the best bed Ive slept on for years. It was super clean with an excellent coffee machine, hairdryer and shower in the room. The breakfast was delicious, we missed dinner due to our very late arrival but I would love to try it sometime and we were able to take a couple of drinks up to our room. . We will definitely stay again if we're in the area and would highly recommend to others.

I come down here to have a bit of respite form work and this place has never fallen short...can't give a mark on the rooms..as have never stayed here... but the food and service are one of the best places i visit.. just a big thank you to the staff.. you are a credit.

We dropped in on Jan 2, a party of 10. Good menu means there was something for everyone’s taste. Staff were lovely, welcoming, kind and helpful. Food arrived in good time and was generous and tasty, from the sausage and mash with excellent gravy, to the chowder with mussels. Just what you want after a good beach walk. Really welcoming for the dog too. Well worth a visit. Thanks to all the staff.

Outside, the Bridport Arms doesn't look too inspiring - a standard looking seaside pub that gets attacked by the sea breezes laden with salt. Inside it's a different matter. Yes, the bar and restaurant are basic and homely but food is good, service is cheery and then there are the bedrooms. We had number 7 - at the end of a positive Alice in Wonderland maze of corridors and stairs, Room 7 opens out into a full-blown suite with a sitting area in the bedroom, a chaise longue in the dressing room, brand new kettle and sturdy coffee machine in the wardrobe, complete with fancy boxes of teas and coffee pods, and a bed the size of the Isle of Wight (slight exaggeration, ok?) All very comfortable, well appointed and in good condition. Water pressure in the bathroom is sensational and the waterfall shower really means it. Really great value for money and a real surprise. Oh and BTW, if you're lucky you can park up the side of the pub without incurring the parking charges in the short stay car park at the front. Thanks very much. Shall return.
